Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bookery AI("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Bookery AI (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your name and email address, provided when you sign in (for example, through Google sign-in).
- Content: the prompts, book text, and edits you create or upload to the Service.
- Billing data: when you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and processes your payment details. We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited information such as your plan, subscription status, and a customer identifier.
- Usage data: basic logs and analytics such as feature usage, request counts, and error information, used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service — generate, edit, store, and export your books.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To enforce quotas, prevent abuse, and secure the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account and support requests.
- To maintain and improve the Service.
3. AI processing and sub-processors
To generate and edit content, the text you submit is sent to third-party AI providers (for example, Google's Gemini API) for processing. We also rely on infrastructure and service providers to run Bookery AI. Current key sub-processors include:
- Google (Gemini API) — AI text generation and editing.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
- Vercel — application hosting.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your books in the app. If you close your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to comply with law (for example, tax and billing records).
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. You may also manage or cancel your subscription through the billing portal in your dashboard.
6. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this Policy from time to time and will update the date above. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@bookery.ai.
