Paperback Publishing with KDP Print

Print adds credibility and a second revenue stream. KDP Print handles printing and shipping; you just supply two files.

Interior file

A print-ready PDF at your trim size (6×9 is most common), with proper margins, an inside gutter for binding, embedded fonts, and front matter. No cover in the interior.

Cover file

A full-wrap PDF — back cover + spine + front cover — with 0.125" bleed at 300 DPI. The spine width depends on page count and paper type.

Proof before you publish

Order or preview a proof to catch margin and color issues before going live.

FAQ

What's bleed?

Extra image area (0.125") beyond the trim that gets cut off, so colors reach the edge with no white slivers. Text-only interiors don't need bleed.

How wide is the spine?

Page count × paper thickness (white ≈ 0.002252"/page). Compute it after your interior is final.
